FAQ

Where is my data stored? Will I lose it when I switch phones?

All data is stored only on-device and never uploaded to the cloud. When switching devices, go to Settings → Export Data to generate a .trails file, then use "Import Data" on the new device to restore your trips. Note: photos are not included in the exported file; keep originals in your system Photos library.

No search suggestions when I type a place?

Place suggestions rely on the network and Apple Maps (MapKit). If the network is unavailable or the service is temporarily limited, the suggestion area shows "Place suggestions unavailable." You can still type the name manually and save it; this does not affect usage.

How do I add a trip to the system calendar / enable departure reminders?

From the menu in the top-right of a destination's detail page, choose "Add to Calendar" (requires calendar write permission). Departure reminders can be enabled in Settings → Reminders; once enabled, destinations that are "Want to go" with a set departure date will trigger one reminder at 20:00 the day before and 08:00 on the day.

Why are there no photos in the exported file?

To keep shared files lightweight and protect privacy, photos are stored on-device only and are not included in the exported file.

Does the app collect my privacy?

No. We have no accounts, collect no personal information, and run no ads or behavioral analytics. See the Privacy Policy.
